Road Test with Ross McCallum

Road Test with Ross McCallum

Born in Geelong, Victoria, Ross began his career in the Fashion Industry in Melbourne as a hair and makeup artist.

“Working on many shoots and experiencing the stylist work I was inspired.”

Ross evolved within the industry by deciding to shift roles…

“I was more excited about clothing and styling itself, so furthered my education with a Bachelor of Design in Styling and Creative Direction. Working in Melbourne within fashion, campaigns, editorial and runway.”

"In 2015 I was the Fashion Editor of Jetstar’s infight magazine. I won the Fashion styling category of the of the inaugural GQ Generation 2015 up and coming talent search. I was featured in and got to style an editorial in the March/April issue of GQ 2015.

September 2015 I moved to New York City, to take my career to the next level. Since being in NYC I've been assisting to style and also working on my own styling. I have had the chance to work on New Work Fashion week, on campaigns for Topshop, DKNY, Uniqlo, Opening Ceremony, and editorials with Vogue China, Teen Vogue, GQ Brazil."

One word to describe your new undies...

Light

Are these your new party pants?

100%! I’m a usually a briefs boy, but these trunks have won me over. They feel so light on and are hella comfy. Great for my day-to-day running around the city.

Comfort, style, or value for money?

In my job as a stylist I am always looking for products that are a combination of all three. I am a firm believer in curating your wardrobe. Spending a little bit more money on pieces that are of great quality, that will last and you can wear time and time again. I think this is key with your underwear, it’s something you wear everyday and you don’t want to be picking a wedgie all day!

I think Campbell and Hall have great classic styles that won’t date (yes underwear can date too!). The branding on the pieces are subtle and not in your face, this is why its one of my favourite undies brands. The quality of cotton in the pieces feels so lovely against the skin. For the price I think you are getting value for money with great style!

Favourite style of undies?

I’d have to say the Campbell Ribbed brief in light grey. It’s such a classic style, simple and no fuss.  A style that looks good no matter the situations you might find yourself in!
