With an eye for colourful and graphic compositions, Larnce Gold has forged an international career in portrait and fashion photography. Now based in Sydney, where he lives with his wife Ruth and sons Amiell and Felix, he continues to shoot innovative and arresting images with a strong sense of storytelling. 

We were lucky enough to have Larnce shoot and star in our AW15 campaign, as well as film Campbell & Hall's 'Bondi Sessions'. We managed to catch up with him for a chat about our favourite suburb...

How would you describe your photography style?

Clean.

Bondi's pretty good looking, but is there a spot you find particularly photogenic?

It’s hard to beat North Bondi just before sunset with the warm sun from the south lighting it all up. In fact, anything really looks good at that time but especially Ben Buckler viewed from the south…

Beach at sunrise or beach at sunset?

I love the feelings that come just before sunset, however I also love the hope of the morning.

When you think Bondi lifestyle, how would you describe it?

Walk to the beach for a swim, grab a juice and a random chat with another Defender driver about the exorbitant cost of living in the best post code on Earth.

What is your go-to weekend wear?

T-shirts and shorts but anything comfy really.

In Bondi, where do you go for:

Food – Lewis’s does the best pastrami burger in town, the side of attitude is on the house
Coffee – Brew on Brighton Blvd is numero uno
Drinks – Shuk is a great local wine bar for after dark
